The field house, nearly 120 years old, is set to undergo a $4.3 million renovation aimed at restoring its facade, windows, doors, concrete structures, ramps, and sidewalks. Additionally, the project includes comprehensive upgrades to the pool area, encompassing renovations to bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, and the introduction of a gender-neutral restroom. Furthermore, the renovation plan incorporates ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) improvements and updates to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, alongside repainting of most public spaces.

The project benefits from a $1.2 million state grant allocated for parks and recreation, supplementing other funding sources.
