Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) are initiating a $30 million funding endeavor aimed at propelling economic growth and rejuvenating communities within the state.
Two Key Programs
The funding is allocated into two primary programs: the Rebuild Illinois Downtowns and Main Streets Capital program, receiving $20 million, and the Research in Illinois to Spur Economic Recovery program, allocated $10 million.
Rebuild Illinois Downtowns and Main Streets Capital Program
Under this program (RDMS), grants will be dispensed for the construction, repair, and modernization of public infrastructure and amenities. The objective is to bolster employment opportunities, enhance living standards, and invigorate economic endeavors in commercial corridors and downtown districts across Illinois.

Grant Application Details
Entities meeting qualification criteria are eligible to apply for grants from $250,000 to $2 million. Local government units must provide a minimum 25% match, while other applicants must match 50% of the grant amount.
