Rice University recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Susan and Fayez Sarofim Hall, an 83,000-square-foot, $76 million project set to open in fall 2025. Named after lead donors, the late founder of Houston's largest money management firm, the building will house the Department of Art.

A Center for Creativity

The new space aims to meet increased student demand for humanities courses while providing a cutting-edge environment for art faculty and students. Positioned in the campus's southwest corner alongside the Moody Center for the Arts and Shepherd School of Music, it aspires to establish a vibrant arts district.
