Wynwood’s Iconic Mayami Reopens After Full Redesign
Traded Editorial
Key Points
- Big Reset: The 8,500 SF venue reopens after a full transformation, signaling long term confidence in Wynwood’s nightlife scene.
- Design First: Mexican craftsmanship and indoor outdoor flow replace loud theming with a more elevated, timeless atmosphere.
- All-Day Energy: Mayami leans into a dinner to late night format that keeps traffic consistent throughout the week.
Design Upgrade
The redesign was led by Casa Medina Design Studio with a clear focus on texture, material honesty, and guest flow. Hand-troweled plaster walls, lime washed finishes, sculptural wood, bronze accents, and artisanal tilework define the space. Arched walkways and layered rooms guide movement naturally, while an open air courtyard anchors the indoor outdoor experience. The result is a warmer, more immersive environment designed for longer dwell times.
Programming Shift
Originally opened in 2020, Mayami has evolved into a true supper club where dining and nightlife operate as one continuous experience. As the evening unfolds, DJ driven programming, live performers, and rotating acts take over the room. The high-energy atmosphere is designed to keep guests on-site well beyond dinner, maximizing use of the space seven nights a week.
Food and Beverage
The relaunch builds on Mayami’s Latin Mediterranean foundation with a broader and more flexible culinary mix. The menu now spans sushi and seafood forward Mediterranean dishes alongside prime tomahawk steaks, Wagyu short rib rigatoni, truffle pasta, panela salmon, and barbacoa style short rib. Cocktails remain central to the concept, led by signatures like the Mayami Old Fashioned and Mezcal Mule, supported by happy hours and weekend brunch.
Why This Matters for Landlords and Investors
For Wynwood property owners, Mayami’s reopening reinforces a simple lesson: reinvestment in strong operators pays off. Design-forward upgrades help preserve long-term relevance, while day-to-night concepts increase revenue density per square foot. Well-executed nightlife tenants also reduce rollover and vacancy risk, especially in experience-driven submarkets like Wynwood.
