Werwaiss Moves Forward With 37-Story LIC Project

23-02 42nd Road, the site of a 37-story mixed-use building in Long Island City, Queens, has officially started construction. Developed by Werwais Properties and designed by Fogarty Finger, this imposing 372-foot-tall structure is set to reshape the Long Island City skyline and offer a vibrant mixed-use space to its community.

This upcoming project’s specifications: The development is slated to yield an impressive 230,000 square feet in total, comprising 240 residential units sprawled across 163,000 square feet. Additionally, the building will feature 10,000 square feet of commercial space and accommodate 91 parking spaces, enhancing convenience and accessibility for residents and visitors alike.

Who is behind the construction: Suffolk Construction Company, the general contractor for the property, is overseeing the construction diligently. Although construction briefly paused, it swiftly regained momentum earlier this year, with the reinforced concrete superstructure rapidly taking form. 

Location, location, location: Situated between 23rd and 24th Streets, the location promises an excellent blend of urban living and connectivity. This strategic positioning ensures that future residents will relish prime, unobstructed views of the Queensboro Bridge, the East River, and mesmerizing sunsets behind the Midtown Manhattan skyline. 

The elevated Queensboro Plaza station to the east services the 7, N, and W trains, while the interconnected Court Square and Court Square-23 Street stations, which collectively serve the 7, E, F, and G trains, are also in proximity.

If everything goes according to plan, the project will be inaugurated in April 2025.
