  • Vango Development has completed Parker East, a five-story mixed-use rental building with 86 apartments at 263 Hackensack Street in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

  • Located at 263 Hackensack Street, East Rutherford, NJ 07073, the project includes approximately 1,100 square feet of retail space and 114 parking spaces, including 105 enclosed spaces.

  • The development was backed by a $25 million construction loan from ConnectOne Bank, with leasing now underway and residences available for immediate occupancy.

What Vango Development Delivered

Vango Development has completed Parker East, transforming a former industrial property at 263 Hackensack Street into a new mixed-use rental community near the Rutherford train station. Designed by MHS Architecture, the five-story building contains 86 one- and two-bedroom apartments along with ground-floor retail. The project replaces a former 8,700-square-foot industrial building on the approximately 1.4-acre site. The project originally targeted a June 2026 delivery after breaking ground in May 2025. Construction has now been completed, with leasing launched in September and immediate occupancy available.

What The 86 Apartments Offer

Parker East features residences ranging from approximately 823 to 1,247 square feet, with one- and two-bedroom layouts.

Apartments include plank flooring, quartz countertops, in-unit washers and dryers, custom closets and smart-lock entry, with balconies available in select residences. Thirteen apartments are reserved for affordable housing. Amenities include a fitness center, resident lounge, private work pods, pet spa, bike storage and Amazon Hub package lockers, along with a rooftop terrace, landscaped outdoor areas and recreational spaces. Current leasing information shows rents starting at approximately $3,250 per month, with grand-opening incentives of up to two months free for qualifying residents.

What The Financing Means

Construction was supported by a $25 million loan from ConnectOne Bank, which closed in January 2025 and helped finance the five-story development.

Vango CEO Van Golemis said Parker East reflects the company's focus on “high-quality residential communities in well-connected neighborhoods.”

The project's location less than a quarter-mile from the Rutherford NJ TRANSIT station is central to that strategy. For multifamily investors, Parker East also expands Vango's existing footprint in the Rutherford area, following the company's Parker 106 and Parker 118 rental properties.

What The Transit Location Adds

Parker East sits approximately 0.2 miles from the Rutherford NJ TRANSIT station, providing access to the Bergen County and Port Jervis lines. The property is also close to Rutherford's downtown retail, restaurants and entertainment. The project represents another example of transit-oriented multifamily development in Bergen County, replacing an older industrial use with new rental housing, retail and structured parking. With construction complete and leasing underway, Parker East is now moving from development into the lease-up phase, giving Vango another operating multifamily asset in the Rutherford-East Rutherford market.
