The University of South Florida (USF) has scheduled the groundbreaking ceremony for its new on-campus football stadium. This significant event will take place during Homecoming Week on October 14.

Completion Timeline
The new stadium is anticipated to be ready for the 2027 football season, marking a major milestone for USF's athletic program.
Financial Approvals and Funding
In December, the USF Board of Trustees approved the construction of the $340 million stadium. To finance this project, USF secured a $200 million loan from Truist Bank at an interest rate of 6.48%. The remaining $140 million will be sourced from fundraising donations, the sale of broadband equipment/licenses, and other auxiliary accounts.

Construction Management Team
The construction of the stadium will be managed by a team comprising Manhattan Construction Co., H.J. Russell & Co., and DuCon LLC. Currently, the USF football team plays at Raymond James Stadium, which is also home to the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
