Tommy Hilfiger, the iconic fashion figure and founder of his renowned design company, has once again placed his Mediterranean-style mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, on the market, as reported by Mansion Global.
History of Listings and Current Asking Price
Last September, Hilfiger, along with his wife Dee Ocleppo, a designer and former model, initially listed the expansive 5,000-plus-square-foot property for $39.7 million. After reducing the asking price to $37.9 million, the property was temporarily removed from the market. Now, the three-bedroom, four-bathroom Palm Beach residence is back, seeking a buyer at the reduced price of $35.9 million.
Acquisition and Affection for Palm Beach
Purchased by the couple for $21 million in June 2021, the estate captivated them with its lakeside location and proximity to the Lake Worth Lagoon. In an interview with Architectural Digest, Ocleppo expressed their love for the home, emphasizing the allure of Palm Beach's perennial greenery. She noted, "Palm Beach is so green and so lush year-round."
Renovation and Transformation
Upon moving in, Hilfiger and Ocleppo initiated a comprehensive renovation with the assistance of designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard. Hilfiger shared, "The first thing we wanted to do, though, was lighten and brighten." Describing the initial state of the home, he mentioned mahogany and cherry wood, window blinds blocking light, and an abundance of patterns in various elements. The renovation resulted in a refreshed interior, boasting an entry foyer, formal dining room, living room with a cypress ceiling, and a coral stone fireplace.
Indoor and Outdoor Features
Inside the mansion, the primary suite stands out with dual bathrooms, a sitting room, and two balconies overlooking the lake. Outside, the property offers a fireplace-equipped courtyard, a columned loggia, a summer kitchen, and a pool surrounded by tropical landscaping.
Christian J. Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate is the listing agent, though he was unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.
