Development Site

The Jasper, a new 13-story residential building located at 2-33 50th Avenue in the Hunters Point district of Long Island City, Queens, has reached its full height. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by The Domain Companies, LMXD, Bridge Investment Group, and The Vorea Group, the building stands at 125 feet tall and covers 550,000 square feet. It will offer 499 residential units ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, with 150 units designated as affordable housing. Additionally, the development includes 40,000 square feet of retail space, a community facility, parking for 111 cars, and a rear yard.

Architectural Features and Progress

Since the last update in December, significant progress has been made on the steel and reinforced concrete superstructure. Recent photographs reveal the development of the building’s window grid and red brick façade, visible behind scaffolding. The steel-framed podium along 50th Avenue features a sloped roof and angled walls, complementing the adjacent tower's design. The renderings showcase a blend of modern and traditional elements, with glass curtain walls, metal paneling, and traditional brick combined with industrial-style windows. The podium and tower tops will have landscaped terraces, swimming pools, and space for solar panels.

Amenities and Retail Space

Jasper will offer a variety of residential amenities, including multiple outdoor terraces, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a yoga studio, bike storage, landscaped courtyards, a game room, package lockers, personal storage, dedicated outdoor dining and barbecue areas, a residential lounge with coworking spaces, and several green roofs. Dumbo Market has signed a 13,500-square-foot lease and plans to move from its current location across the street to Jasper upon its completion.

Transportation and Sustainability

The Jasper is conveniently located near the Vernon Boulevard station, providing easy access to the 7 train. The building is designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability. The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2025.
