The development of Downtown Miami’s Metrocenter has moved forward significantly, with the county announcing a shortlist of three prequalified proposers for the project, as detailed in a recent memo to commissioners.

Metrocenter's vision includes the transformation of multiple county-owned properties. The project encompasses around 27 acres in the downtown government center area, aiming to create a dynamic, interactive community that operates around the clock. This redevelopment will integrate cultural buildings and thousands of residential units, fostering a vibrant urban environment.

An integral component of the Metrocenter project is the construction of a Downtown Intermodal Terminal. This facility will serve the county’s Department of Transportation and Public Works, enhancing connectivity and transportation infrastructure in the area.
