Construction permits have been officially issued for the foundation and groundbreaking of a new 12-story building at 1730 S Wabash Avenue in South Loop. The permit, submitted on June 28, 2022, received approval on December 21, 2023, concluding a 541-day review process.

Development Details and Budget

The initial phase of development boasts a budget of $5,700,000, primarily allocated for laying the foundation and constructing the partial superstructure up to the top of the second level. The first and second-floor mezzanines are planned to accommodate parking spaces for a total of 80 vehicles. Upon completion, the building will offer 110 residential apartment units.

Key Players in Development

Architect David Haymes is credited as the architect of record for this phase, while Brandts Build assumes the role of general contractor. McHugh Concrete Construction will oversee the masonry work during this construction phase.
