Solar-Powered 1428 Brickell Breaks Ground

The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a visionary new project in Miami’s Brickell Financial District, has officially broken ground, marking a transformative milestone in luxury real estate and sustainable architecture. Developed by Miami-based Ytech, led by CEO Yamal Yidios, this 70-story residential tower is set to become a global icon as the first condominium in Miami to integrate photovoltaic glass solar energy into its design.

A Sustainable Vision

Located on a 1.15-acre site at 1428 Brickell Avenue, formerly home to a BankUnited office building, the tower will feature a “Solar Backbone” comprising nearly 20,000 square feet of photovoltaic glass that will be built into the glass facade. This innovative design will produce up to 175,000 kWh of energy annually, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 4,700 tons. The integration of solar energy into the façade underscores a commitment to meaningful innovation and environmental responsibility, saving an estimated 3,000 barrels of oil each year.

Luxury Living Redefined

The Residences at 1428 Brickell will feature 195 units, ranging from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet, priced between $3 million and $7 million. For those seeking elevated opulence, the building also offers a collection of penthouses spanning 4,000 to 10,000 square feet, priced from $8 million to the largest penthouse, with seven bedrooms and soaring 30-foot ceilings, priced at $60 million. 

Over 50% of the units are already pre-sold, reflecting global confidence in the project. Residences will not allow short-term rentals, ensuring an exclusive and private living experience. 

The property will boast 80,000 square feet of amenities spread across the top three floors and more, including:

• Pools: Three distinct swimming pools.

• Fitness & Wellness: A 10,000-square-foot gym, an indoor/outdoor yoga room, and a spa.

• Social & Recreational Spaces: A wine and fine art lounge, private dining room, wellness bar, movie room, and children’s playroom.

• Unique Additions: Guest suites and office suites.

The Residences at 1428 Brickell is a collaboration among some of the industry’s most respected names:

• Architectural Design: ACPV Architects and Miami-based Arquitectonica.

• Construction: John Moriarty & Associates, a Massachusetts-based firm.

• Sales Efforts: Cervera Real Estate, led by Alicia Cervera Lamadrid.

The sales success follows the project's launch in 2022, with Ytech having acquired the development site in 2017. The firm closed on a $104 million loan earlier this year.

Completion Timeline

Once completed in 2028, The Residences at 1428 Brickell will become one of Miami’s tallest residential towers at 861 feet. Cranes will soar over 1,000 feet above the skyline during the construction process.
