Mixed Use

Applications have been submitted to extend a four-story building vertically and transform it into a 16-story mixed-use establishment at 232 Broome Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan

The project’s location: Situated at the intersection of Essex Street and Broome Street, this corner plot is in close proximity to the East Broadway subway station, accessible via the F train. The owner associated with these applications is Soft Stone Development Group.

What are the new plans: The proposed development is expected to reach a height of 191 feet and generate a total area of 28,941 square feet. Within this, 15,799 square feet will be designated for residential purposes, and 13,142 square feet will be allocated for commercial usage. The building plans encompass 18 residences, likely for rental purposes, given an average unit size of approximately 877 square feet. This concrete-based structure will include a cellar, but won't have supplementary parking facilities. The official architect is Rise Architecture.

Considering this is an expansion project, demolition permits are not anticipated to be necessary. As of now, a specific completion date for the project has not been announced.
