Harrison Street's New Home at The Fulton
Harrison Street Asset Management is moving its headquarters to The Fulton at 919 W. Fulton Market, leaving its longtime address at 444 W. Lake Street. Skender completed the 83,000-square-foot buildout across three floors in just 26 weeks, giving the real estate and infrastructure investment manager a workplace built for a bigger, more flexible team than its old space could hold.
The new HQ centers on an atrium stair connecting the main levels, a dedicated executive suite, a mix of private offices and open work areas, and large outdoor terraces. A central café anchors the floor with a full bar and built-in audiovisual equipment, designed to double as space for all-hands meetings. SCB designed the interiors around an urban, industrial aesthetic meant to echo the Fulton Market neighborhood itself.
Skender's Bigger Role at 919 W. Fulton
Skender didn't just build Harrison Street's space. The firm also served as base building general contractor for the entire 535,000-square-foot development at 919 W. Fulton, which wrapped construction in April. The property is WELL- and LEED Silver-certified, and it holds a notable distinction: it's the only Class A office building to break ground in Chicago since 2023, a fact that underscores how selective new office construction has become in the city even as leasing activity like Harrison Street's move keeps landing.
Gibson's Steakhouse and Equinox Fitness are already open at the property. The building's developer and any additional office tenants beyond Harrison Street weren't confirmed in the reporting available, worth chasing before this runs if you want the full tenant roster.
What's Next for The Fulton
With Harrison Street's buildout complete, the firm can begin operating from its new Fulton Market home immediately. For Skender, the project adds another finished Fulton Market anchor to its résumé, in a submarket that's added little new Class A supply in years, making a fast, fully custom buildout like this one a rarer commodity than it used to be.
