Sika Corp. has initiated the construction of a major mortar production facility in Upper Deerfield Township, New Jersey. This new plant, spanning 250,000 square feet, is strategically located on Route 77 and is set to commence operations by late 2025. Designed by the architectural firm Manders Merighi Portadin Farrell Architects, the facility will produce a wide array of mortars tailored to meet both residential and commercial construction demands.

Job Creation and Expansion in the U.S.
The construction of the new plant is expected to generate 50 jobs in Cumberland County, New Jersey. Sika Corp., known for its expertise in developing products and systems for bonding, sealing, damping, and reinforcing in the building and automotive sectors, is also expanding its operations with a new fully automated warehouse in Marion, Ohio. This 150,000-square-foot facility, which will be operational this month, will distribute finished goods to key construction and industrial markets throughout the United States.
Steady Growth in New Jersey's Industrial Sector
New Jersey's industrial real estate market remains robust, with an under-construction pipeline totaling 7 million square feet as of May, as reported by CommercialEdge. Although this figure is lower than that of Atlanta (10.1 million square feet), Chicago (10.8 million square feet), and Dallas (17.3 million square feet), it surpasses Indianapolis (4.8 million square feet) and the Inland Empire (4.5 million square feet).
Major Industrial Developments in New Jersey
One of the significant industrial projects in New Jersey is the Rockefeller Group's Logistics Center at Carneys Point, a two-building complex that will cover over 1.1 million square feet. The development received a $114.8 million construction loan. Additionally, Matrix Development Group has secured $93 million in financing for its Matrix Logistics Park in Budd Lake, N.J., a project comprising two buildings with a total area of 781,748 square feet.
