The Shoma Group, a prominent Miami-based commercial and residential real estate developer, has recently submitted revised plans for Shoma One, a groundbreaking project set to redefine urban living in the vibrant city of Miami

What to expect from this project: The development is envisioned to consist of two impressive 40-story towers near the Douglas Road Metrorail station, providing a seamless connection to the heart of Miami's bustling cityscape. As reported by the South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ), this development is set to transform the skyline and offer unparalleled convenience and luxury to its residents.

The project in numbers: The impressive features of Shoma One include twin 40-story towers resting atop a spacious podium. The development is set to house 748 rental apartments, providing a wide array of housing options for prospective tenants. Additionally, a remarkable 18,000-square-foot Shoma Bazaar food hall is planned, offering a diverse culinary experience within the community. Addressing parking needs, the development will boast 718 parking spaces, ensuring ample availability for both residents and visitors.

Location, location, location: Located just a short stroll away from the Metrorail station, Shoma One's strategic positioning offers swift access to the Metrorail, allowing a quick 8-minute commute to Brickell, a hub of business and culture. This accessibility is set to enhance the overall lifestyle and mobility for residents, making it an attractive choice for urban professionals and those seeking a dynamic living experience.

Notably, Shoma One is not just about prime location; it is also seamlessly integrated with The Underline, a transformative linear park and urban trail. This connection to The Underline further adds to the appeal of the development, promising a blend of modern living with nature and recreation.

In a bid to enhance the living experience, soundproof double thickness glass will be installed in lower-level apartments facing the Metrorail, providing peace and tranquility amidst the urban buzz. This attention to detail underscores Shoma Group's commitment to creating a comfortable and modern living environment for its residents.

The history behind the project: The Shoma Group acquired the 2.5-acre site for Shoma One at a noteworthy price of $34 million in 2022, highlighting their dedication to this transformative project. Initially, plans were set for two 18-story towers, but subsequent adjustments were made as the site was incorporated into Miami-Dade’s Rapid Transit Zone, allowing for greater building intensity. Impressively, the developer is also reserving 12.5% of the units for workforce housing, emphasizing inclusivity and a diverse community.

What’s next for Shoma One: With a target groundbreaking date set for mid-2024, the Shoma Group aims to commence construction and bring Shoma One to life. Bermello Ajamil, a reputable architecture firm, has been entrusted with the project's architectural design, adding further credence to the promising future of this remarkable development. As Shoma One takes shape, it stands poised to elevate Miami's skyline and set new standards in luxury, convenience, and modern urban living.
