Construction is progressing at 61 Metropolitan Avenue, a 24-unit, seven-story residential development in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The project, designed by Francisco Nunez of Studio Gallos and developed by Gabriel Grunblatt's 61 Metropolitan LLC, will stand at a height of 74 feet and encompass 24,257 square feet.
Apartment sizes will average 704 square feet, along with 245 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and a 32-foot-long rear yard. G Group Associates serves as the general contractor for this property, situated on an interior lot between Kent Avenue to the north and Wythe Avenue to the south. The nearest subway access to the property is the highly popular L train at the Bedford Avenue station to the east.
At the current pace, the building may top out before summer's end, although façade installation has not yet commenced.
The primary rendering showcases a façade predominantly constructed from red brick, framing a staggered grid of recessed floor-to-ceiling windows of varying widths. Balconies stack at either end of the main elevation and are accented by black metal paneling. The seventh floor features a setback on the western corner, bordered by a glass railing, indicating the presence of a terrace space. Another terrace is depicted on the parapet, while the ground floor includes a louvered screen that may serve as the entrance to an on-site parking garage.
Anticipated completion for 61 Metropolitan Avenue is set for next summer.
