Plans have been submitted for a new 15-story building at 2952 West 28th Street in Coney Island, Brooklyn. This development will be located between Mermaid and Surf Avenues, close to the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station, which is accessible by the D, F, N, and Q trains. The project is being spearheaded by Judy Herbstman from the non-profit organization Settlement Housing Fund.

Building Details and Specifications

The proposed structure will stand at 152 feet and encompass 296,965 square feet. Out of this, 165,603 square feet will be designated for residential use, while 131,362 square feet will be allocated for community facilities. The building will feature 172 residences, likely condominiums, with an average unit size of 962 square feet. Additionally, the development will include 66 open parking spaces and 18 enclosed parking spaces.

Architectural Design and Project Timeline

Andrew Knox of ESKW/A has been appointed as the architect of record for the project. As of now, demolition permits for the existing parking lot on the site have not been filed, and the project's completion date remains unannounced.
