Name: Roberto Contreras IV
Position: Chief Executive Officer
Company: DC Partners
Note:
Roberto Contreras IV has been named CEO of DC Partners, succeeding his father, Roberto Contreras Sr., who will remain chairman of the board. The company, founded in 2011, is known for developing luxury projects such as The Allen and has completed 22 developments totaling over 4 million square feet.
Before becoming CEO, Contreras IV served as president of the firm and joined the company in 2018. Before entering the family business, he spent five years in China establishing EB-5 offices while serving as director of the George H.W. Bush Foundation for US-China Relations.
DC Partners has heavily utilized the EB-5 visa program, which allows foreign investors to obtain U.S. residency through real estate investments. Roberto Contreras Sr. also founded Houston EB5 in 2010 and continues to serve as its chairman, while Contreras IV is a managing director.
As CEO, Contreras IV takes leadership during a pivotal period for the company as it expands beyond Houston. The firm recently faced challenges, including foreclosure on the Thompson hotel in San Antonio due to slower-than-expected stabilization, increased competition, and high interest rates.
Despite setbacks, DC Partners is pursuing new opportunities, including The Meuse development in Fredericksburg, a 22-acre mixed-use project featuring retail, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and a hotel near the historic Klingelhoeffer House.
