Temple Israel of West Palm Beach has reached an agreement to sell a significant portion of its waterfront campus to Stephen Ross' Related Ross for $30 million. This decision follows a redesign of the developer’s Shorecrest condominium project, which is planned at 1901 North Flagler Drive. Originally, the development included a shared space for worship and daycare intended for Temple Israel, but the synagogue opted for an independent facility for greater visibility and operational autonomy.

Last Parcel and Future Plans

The congregation approved the sale on December 3, with the deal covering two-thirds of the synagogue’s 1.8-acre campus. The remaining third will be sold to another, yet-to-be-determined buyer. Temple Israel, which marked its centennial last year, has occupied its current location since 1953. The synagogue has not yet finalized a new site for its future campus.

Redesign and Expansion of the Shorecrest Project

Related Ross recently reintroduced updated Shorecrest plans. The development was originally going to be a 26-story, 140-unit condominium. The revised design increases the building’s height to 28 stories with 199 units. Prices for the updated Shorecrest condos range from $1 million to $6 million.

A Growing Market for Luxury Condos

West Palm Beach is experiencing a surge in luxury residential development, with more than 6,600 units in the pipeline. Related Ross is contributing to this wave with both Shorecrest and the nearby South Flagler House. The latter, a 28-story, 108-unit condominium, is priced from $5.9 million to $72.5 million. Construction for Shorecrest is expected to begin in 2026, with completion anticipated by 2028.
