Related Ross is officially moving forward with Village Landing, a massive 71-acre mixed-use development planned in the western communities of Palm Beach County. The project marks the company’s first major South Florida expansion outside of West Palm Beach and signals a growing focus on lifestyle-oriented suburban development in high-growth Florida markets. Village Landing is designed as a walkable village center anchored by a main street, village square, and lakefront boardwalk aimed at creating a destination-style environment for shopping, dining, entertainment, and office activity. Plans call for approximately 220,000 square feet of retail space, more than 100,000 square feet of restaurant space, 90,000 square feet of office space, and a 180-room hotel. The development will feature more than 80 retail shops alongside chef-driven restaurants, cafés, and waterfront dining concepts oriented around the lakefront setting.
Unlike traditional suburban shopping centers, Village Landing is being positioned as a mixed-use lifestyle district built around walkability, public gathering spaces, and year-round programming. Developers plan to activate the site with farmers markets, holiday festivals, pop-up events, outdoor fitness programming, and community events designed to keep foot traffic active beyond standard retail hours. The project reflects the continued evolution of South Florida suburban development toward experience-driven environments that blend hospitality, retail, entertainment, and office uses into one integrated destination. Lakefront boardwalks, open-air plazas, and hospitality-focused design have become increasingly common in newer Florida mixed-use developments as developers compete for both residents and visitors seeking more lifestyle-oriented environments.
Village Landing highlights how western Palm Beach County continues attracting major institutional developers as population growth expands farther from traditional coastal markets. The region has seen increasing demand for retail, hospitality, and entertainment infrastructure as affluent residents continue relocating into suburban master-planned communities tied to equestrian, golf, and luxury residential markets. For Related Ross, the project expands the company’s footprint beyond downtown West Palm Beach, where it has already become one of the area’s dominant office and mixed-use developers. The development also reflects broader confidence in Palm Beach County’s long-term growth trajectory as developers continue betting on South Florida’s population expansion, wealth migration, and demand for large-scale mixed-use destinations. Groundbreaking for Village Landing is expected to begin this fall.
