The Related Companies, in partnership with the Frisbie Group, and the Family Church have proposed a transformative redevelopment of a downtown West Palm Beach site. Led by Stephen M. Ross, owner of the Miami Dolphins, this project aims to revitalize the 9.6-acre campus at 1101 S. Flagler Drive, strategically located near several major projects in the area.

Development Plan

Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates of New York, the plan includes two condominium towers offering approximately 190 units with sweeping water views. The proposal also involves significant enhancements to the church's facilities, including renovating the existing building, constructing a new early childhood education building, a K-8 school, and a parking garage serving both residential and church needs.

Integrated Approach

Gopal Rajegowda, managing partner of Related Southeast, emphasized the integrated nature of the project, likening it to a mixed-use development with a unified vision for the church's property. Bruce Fisher, design principal at KPF, highlighted the project's role in creating a modern, cohesive district that integrates church, school, and residential spaces into a walkable neighborhood.

Collaborative Trend

This redevelopment reflects a broader trend in South Florida where religious organizations collaborate with developers to utilize prime real estate for mutual benefit. Similar partnerships have been seen in Related Cos.' previous projects with religious entities. The initiative, subject to approval from the West Palm Beach Planning Board and City Commission, is expected to provide a significant boost to the local community and real estate market.

Community Impact

Pastor Jimmy Scroggins of the Family Church expressed confidence that the project would enable the church to continue its mission and strengthen community ties. Rajegowda noted the strong market demand for such developments in West Palm Beach, particularly from world-class companies attracted by Florida’s favorable business climate.

The collaborative redevelopment project between Related Cos., the Frisbie Group, and the Family Church holds promise not only for revitalizing the church's campus but also for enhancing the local community and real estate market in West Palm Beach.
