Prologis expands Port Crossing Commerce Center

Prologis, led by CEO Dan Letter, has broken ground on the final phase of its speculative development at Port Crossing Commerce Center in La Porte, Texas. The new phase will add 229,000 square feet of industrial space across two buildings, including one measuring 120,013 square feet and another totaling 109,214 square feet. Once completed, the logistics park will span more than 2.7 million square feet across 11 buildings, further strengthening the area’s role as a major distribution hub near Houston.

What the expansion means for Prologis’ Houston presence

The project adds to Prologis’ extensive footprint in the Houston industrial market. The company currently owns more than 200 commercial properties in the region totaling over 37 million square feet, serving more than 550 customers. Globally, Prologis manages 1.3 billion square feet of logistics assets across 20 countries. In 2024, activity through its facilities generated $273.2 billion in throughput, contributing $31.8 billion to GDP and $5.2 billion in tax revenue. The expansion at Port Crossing Commerce Center highlights continued demand for industrial and logistics space near major port and distribution markets like Houston.
