As Williamsburg evolves and developers transform former low-rise warehouses and aging structures into exciting new visions, construction is about to finish for 107 N 1st St.'s five-story mixed-use building. Designed by Melamed Architects and developed by a developer behind 107 North First Street Realty, LLC, this latest newcomer to one of Brooklyn's most highly sought after neighborhoods will offer 18,000 SF of office space plus a ground-floor with retail areas.
Local Design in Mind
As construction nears completion, the building stands with oversized industrial-style windows, adding a distinctive touch to the building. The property's design, while contemporary, acknowledges the industrial heritage of the neighborhood. Inside, there will be exposed brick. Gray-colored paneling and a metal framework for a ground-level canopy characterize the façade.
A Glimpse of Transformation
Old conditions on North 1st Street have given way to new developments, and 107 North 1st Street contributes to this. The project showcases a shift from traditional low-rise structures to modern commercial spaces. While the original design included a rooftop structure with climbing vegetation, the final design opted for a fifth-floor outdoor terrace.
Anticipating Completion
The completion of 107 North 1st Street is expected to be completed this Fall. As the neighborhood adapts to changing demands and preferences, 107 N 1st St. emerges as a symbol of Williamsburg's renewal. The nearest subway station will be the Bedford Avenue station with it's L train.
