A refreshed vision for 24-19 Jackson Avenue, a proposed 55-story residential tower in the Court Square area of Long Island City, Queens, has been unveiled. Designed by FXCollaborative and backed by developers Tavros Capital, Charney Companies, and Incoco Capital, the skyscraper is set to reach 676 feet and feature 600 residential units alongside 10,000 square feet of retail space. Occupying an 18,000-square-foot lot bordered by 45th Avenue, Jackson Avenue, and 23rd Street, the project aims to transform the currently vacant site into a modern mixed-use development.
Design and Architectural Features
The tower’s design includes a striking black metal grid façade with reflective floor-to-ceiling glass. Horizontal mullions create a dense pattern near the base, transitioning to expansive vertical glass panels as the structure ascends. A landscaped podium forms the building's base, topped by a terrace, while the main tower features shallow setbacks on its southeastern face. The crown of the building incorporates an illuminated light gray bulkhead, echoing design elements of nearby structures like the Skyline Tower.

Previous Site Plans
The site, previously owned by Japanese hotel operator Toyoko Inn, was purchased by the current developers in 2022 for $68.3 million. The previous plans for the site included a 50-story hotel with 1,200 rooms, but the property has remained idle and overgrown for years. The new vision seeks to revitalize this neglected corner of Long Island City with a contemporary residential and retail destination.
Amenities and Leasing
Chelsea Piers Fitness has secured 72,000 square feet within the podium, with plans to include an outdoor swimming pool, indoor basketball court, fitness studios, a running track, and athletic training spaces. The lease, facilitated by JLL, signals the project’s potential as a hub for both residents and the broader community.
Project Timeline
Construction was initially planned to begin in late 2023, with completion targeted for 2026. However, a revised timeline for the development has not yet been disclosed, leaving the start date uncertain as the project progresses.
