Coppia, a new 19-story mixed-use development in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, has officially topped out. The building, located at 1101 W Van Buren Street, sits between two existing residential buildings and fills a formerly vacant lot.
The team: The developer is Pizzuti Development, a private real estate development and management firm based in Columbus, Ohio. Power Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed in 2024.
The project: The development will have 298 apartments, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, with penthouses occupying the top two floors. There will also be 8,000 square feet of ground-level retail space.
The facilities: Amenities will include a pool deck with cabanas, a bar, grilling areas, fire pits, a game room with arcade games, a golf simulator and shuffleboard, a fitness center, a community clubroom, a co-working space, pet services, 24/7 concierge, and bicycle storage.
The aesthetics: The building's design by Goettsch Partners features a contemporary glass curtain wall with blue-tinted windows and light vertical metal elements. The base of the building is anchored by metal paneling and brick.
Location: Transit access is convenient, with the CTA Blue Line at Racine station just a short walk away. There are also multiple bus routes within a 10-minute walk. Coppia is a welcome addition to the West Loop neighborhood, which is one of Chicago's most vibrant and desirable neighborhoods. The development will provide much-needed housing options and amenities for residents and visitors alike.
