In Roxbury's Fountain Hill neighborhood, a groundbreaking affordable housing project called Saige on Fountain has emerged as the city's inaugural all-electric, multi-unit residential development. This initiative, realized through collaboration between Oxbow Urban, DVM Housing Partners, Our Village Initiative, and PCA, aims to address the need for affordable housing while promoting sustainable living.

Social Equity

Principal architect Laura Homich highlights the significance of Saige on Fountain in providing homeownership opportunities for historically marginalized communities in Boston. The development comprises 40 affordable units, featuring modern designs and communal spaces to foster a sense of belonging and community among residents.

Community Partnerships

The project site, once vacant for over 50 years, was acquired by Oxbow Urban in collaboration with local stakeholders and the Mayor's Office of Housing. Kevin Maguire of Oxbow Urban emphasizes the project's alignment with Boston's diverse community voices and its potential to serve as a model for future affordable housing endeavors.

Carbon Neutral Design

Saige on Fountain stands as a pioneer in environmentally conscious housing, being the first multi-unit development to adhere to the city's 2023 building code promoting all-electric systems. With a focus on sustainability, the project aims to achieve carbon-neutral status, reflecting Roxbury's cultural richness and meeting the housing needs of low to moderate-income individuals and families.
