On July 13, the establishment will bid farewell to its original address at 33 East 60th Street. In its place, Philippe Chow will unveil a brand-new two-level flagship spanning 7,000 square feet at 10 East 52nd Street, conveniently located just off Fifth Avenue and near the lush greenery of Central Park. This move signifies a fresh chapter for the restaurant as it prepares to entice both familiar faces and newcomers in a vibrant setting.

A Shift Driven by Development

The motivation behind this transition is a tale of real estate dynamics common to New York City. The restaurant's previous landlord, Extell Development Company, terminated their lease to pave the way for a luxury skyscraper project on Billionaire’s Row. This development triggered a series of events, including a legal dispute regarding unpaid dues, but ultimately, Philippe Chow reached an amicable resolution, allowing for a smooth relocation process.

A Promising Future

Scheduled to open in September 2025, the new location will celebrate Philippe Chow's 20th anniversary with a sophisticated ambiance. Designed by 3877.Design, patrons can expect an upgraded experience featuring vaulted ceilings, a private wine cellar, convenient elevator access, and ample seating for 220 guests— a slight increase from its previous capacity. The restaurant will also include a lavish bar and several private dining spaces to maintain its allure among high-profile clientele, all while evolving its physical presence.

Expansion Beyond Borders

While the Upper East Side location is making way for high-end real estate, the Philippe Chow brand is ramping up its expansion efforts. The recent launches in Washington, D.C., Kuwait City, and the upcoming Nashville outlet highlight a strategy aimed at capturing a global audience, proving that the restaurant’s influence is not just confined to Manhattan.

As this transition unfolds, the Philippe Chow Downtown branch located in the Dream Hotel at 355 West 16th Street will continue its operations without interruption, ensuring that fans of the restaurant can still enjoy their beloved dishes as the flagship undergoes its transformation.
