Oracle co-founder and billionaire Larry Ellison has purchased the beachfront Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, located in Manalapan, south of Palm Beach. Ellison, who already owns the largest residential estate in the affluent town, has added this luxury resort to his growing portfolio of high-end hospitality properties. Details regarding the purchase price and terms were not disclosed.

The Mediterranean-style resort, boasting over 300 rooms, was previously owned by the London-based Lewis Trust Group, which had held the property since 2003. The Lewis family, through Simon Lewis, expressed their mixed emotions about the sale, reflecting on their long-standing connection with the resort and the community of Manalapan.
Ellison's involvement in luxury hospitality extends beyond this recent acquisition. His portfolio includes prestigious properties such as the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, Sensei Lanai, Nobu Ryokan Malibu, and several others. The general manager of Eau Palm Beach, Tim Nardi, welcomed the acquisition, citing Ellison's experience as a catalyst for new innovations and enhancements at the resort.
The Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa has undergone significant renovations, including a multimillion-dollar improvement project completed in 2022. The property features a variety of luxury amenities, including seaside swimming pools, a large spa, extensive meeting spaces, and multiple dining options. While Ellison plans to make further improvements, specific details have not yet been announced. The current staff will remain to ensure a smooth transition.
Originally branded as a Ritz-Carlton property, the resort was purchased by the Lewis family for $67.5 million in 2003. They invested over $100 million in renovations before rebranding it as Eau Palm Beach in 2013. The resort, known for its award-winning spa, joined the Preferred Hotels Group, which includes boutique upscale hotels worldwide.
Ellison's acquisition of the resort adds to his substantial presence in Manalapan, where he owns a 22-acre estate purchased for $173 million in 2022, setting a Florida residential sales record. His estate is located just 2.5 miles south of the newly acquired resort.
