A new rendering has been revealed for 29-15 40th Road, an upcoming 12-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. The project, designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by SB Development, is shrouded in mystery with limited public details.

Project Details

The property, situated on an interior lot bounded by 40th Avenue to the north and 40th Road to the south, is owned by LIC 40th Avenue Owner LLC, with SBGC LLC serving as the general contractor.

Architectural Features

The revealed rendering showcases an industrial-inspired design characterized by metal paneling framing floor-to-ceiling windows on the northern elevation. The ground floor is likely designated for retail space, boasting expansive glass, while upper levels feature a tight window grid enveloped in white stone. Glass railings adorn the roof parapet and setbacks on the ninth and 11th floors.

Construction Progress

Excavation work has commenced at the site, indicating progress since the previous update in December. The location enjoys proximity to transit hubs, with the Queens Plaza station to the south and the 39th Avenue-Dutch Kills station to the north.

Collaboration History

This project marks the third residential collaboration between SB Development and Fogarty Finger Architects, following NOVA at 41-05 29th Street and Rise LIC at 29-17 40th Avenue.

Completion Date

Anticipated completion for 29-15 40th Road is set for spring 2026, as indicated on site.
