The installation of the facade at “Cassidy on Canal”, a 33-story mixed-use development in Fulton River District at 350 N Canal Street, is close to being completed. This project is being developed by both The Habitat Company and Diversified Real Estate Capital LLC. The building, which is 355-foot-tall, topped out in July.

The new building in detail: The project will feature 1,300 square feet of retail space and 343 residential units, which include studios and two-bedroom apartments. Some of them will be equipped with private balconies, but when it comes to amenities, the building will have plenty: a pool deck, a spa, fitness and recreation rooms, a conference center, and a fifth-level pet walk area. There will also be a 123-vehicle garage, bicycle storage and 185 ground-level bicycle spaces.

What sets it apart: This high-rise stands out from its surroundings due to its hexagonal shape and different cladding materials. The project was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and it includes floor-to-ceiling windows, bronze metal cladding, brick, and other metallic finishes.

How to get there:Cassidy on Canal” can be accessed through several means of public transportation, such as CTA bus service for Routes 12, 37, 56, and 65. Furthermore, the Clinton Station is nearby, serviced by the Green and Pink Line service. Metra and Amtrak services are a mere 11-minute walk south away, at the Ogilvie Transportation Center

What the future holds: It is expected that the first twenty floors will open in February 2024, while the remaining floors will follow in the spring. If everything goes according to plan, the project will be completed by Summer 2024.
