What the Project Includes
A new rendering offers an early look at the senior living and memory care community now under construction at 566 Ryders Lane in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The three-story, 84,276-square-foot building is being developed by National Development and an affiliate of Benchmark Senior Living, with O'Sullivan Architects leading the design. Once completed, the facility will feature 62 assisted living units, 25 memory care apartments, and 100 licensed beds. The project represents the third senior living community that Benchmark and National Development have partnered on in New Jersey.
What the Design Looks Like
The newly released rendering showcases a Colonial-inspired design with a mix of stone and vinyl siding accented by white trim. Hipped and gable roofs finished with black asphalt shingles give the building a traditional residential appearance that blends with the surrounding neighborhood. A covered entrance canopy will welcome residents and visitors, while an adjacent outdoor gathering space and landscaped grounds are designed to create a comfortable, community-oriented environment.
What Amenities Residents Can Expect
Future residents will have access to a range of lifestyle amenities designed to support both assisted living and memory care services. Plans include multiple dining venues, a fitness center, a salon, a cinema, and several outdoor recreation areas. The property is located in a predominantly residential section of East Brunswick near the East Brunswick Public Library, offering convenient access to local community resources.
What Was Previously on the Site
The development replaces a one-story home and a wooded parcel that previously occupied the site. An affiliate of Aldersgate United Methodist Church acquired the property before redevelopment. The church remains immediately south of the project site. Construction officially began in early June after the development team secured a $35.1 million construction loan arranged by JLL. The financing will support construction through the anticipated completion date in 2028.
What This Means for East Brunswick
As New Jersey's senior population continues to grow, demand for modern assisted living and memory care facilities remains strong. The addition of 87 residential units at 566 Ryders Lane expands healthcare-oriented housing options in East Brunswick while bringing a thoughtfully designed senior community to an established residential neighborhood.
