Additional renderings have been released for 155 3rd Street, a forthcoming 22-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The building, designed by Dattner Architects with Bernheimer Architecture as the associate design architect, is being developed by Monadnock Development.

Building Overview

The 265,987-square-foot structure will feature 301 rental units, averaging 767 square feet each. It will also include 34,863 square feet of commercial space, 45 enclosed parking spaces, and a 26-foot-long rear yard. The project is located at the intersection of Bond and 3rd Streets, adjacent to the Gowanus Canal.

Architectural Details

A street-level rendering of the building's southern side, facing 3rd Street, highlights the red brick façade and windows with protruding black frames. This perspective also provides a view of the double-height lobby and the landscaped waterfront esplanade along the canal, which features wooden benches, garden beds, and a dog run.

Northern Elevation and Amenities

The northern elevation, facing 2nd Street, includes a recessed entrance and a double-height lobby with cylindrical columns and floor-to-ceiling glass. The entrance to the on-site parking garage is also located on this side. An aerial rendering shows the building's green roof and landscaped pool deck atop the multi-story podium, which includes greenery, seating, and barbecue grilling stations overlooking the canal.

Building Design and Features

The main tower rises along 2nd Street with a lighter-hued brick façade and recessed floor-to-ceiling windows. Setbacks at the 18th story feature terraces with glass railings. The building is topped with a flat parapet and a short bulkhead.

Nearby Amenities and Transportation

The building is conveniently located near the Carroll Street station, serviced by the F and G trains. A Whole Foods Market is situated nearby to the southeast, across the Gowanus Canal.

Completion Date

The anticipated completion date for 155 3rd Street is December 2025.
