Mister O1 Takes Its Star-Shaped Pizza to Alhambra Circle
Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza has opened its 30th restaurant, taking ground-floor retail space at 110 Alhambra Circle in Coral Gables, inside a large apartment building a few blocks from Miracle Mile. The brand's signature star-shaped pies, made with dough fermented for 72 to 96 hours and no added sugar, go on sale in the Gables as of June 30.
The location has been in the works for more than a year. Signage first went up at the address in March 2025, with an opening date pushed from an initial late-May target to June 30, confirmed via a sandwich board outside the restaurant.
From 18 Seats to 30 Restaurants
Chef Renato Viola and Umberto Mascagni founded Mister O1 in 2014, opening the first location inside an unassuming South Beach office building. Viola, who trained in pizza kitchens near Italy's Amalfi coast starting at age 11, named the brand after the O-1 visa that brought him to the U.S., a designation reserved for people with extraordinary ability in their field. "Mister O1 started with one small location in Miami and a very simple mission: to make extraordinary pizza with extraordinary care," Viola has said of the brand's growth. The company has since expanded across South Florida, into Orlando, Melbourne, Naples and Sarasota, and out of state to Georgia and Texas, with North Carolina next on the list.
Coral Gables Keeps Filling In
The Gables' opening lands in a stretch of the city that has been steadily adding dining and entertainment tenants this year. Five Iron Golf and Strike Club both opened downtown in June, Cluck Face Nashville Hot Chicken is on its way to the area, and Delicias de España just opened a new South Miami location nearby. Mister O1 arrives as a national concept, adding scale in a submarket where local operators have also been active, and where at least one longtime tenant, Casa Terra, closed its doors in the Gables this June.
What's Next
Mister O1 has North Carolina on deck as its next state, continuing a growth run that has averaged roughly two and a half new restaurants a year since the first South Beach location. The Coral Gables restaurant at 110 Alhambra Circle is now open for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.
