Minor Hotels has announced the launch of The Wolseley Hotels, a new luxury hospitality brand that will debut with its first property in New York City. The flagship hotel, The Wolseley Hotel New York, is scheduled to open in early 2027 near Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan. The boutique hotel will include 76 guestrooms and suites, positioning the property as an upscale hospitality offering in one of Manhattan’s busiest commercial districts. The project will also introduce The Wolseley restaurant and bar to the United States for the first time, expanding the well-known London dining brand into the North American market. Additional amenities will include a cellar-level speakeasy bar and a wellness and wellbeing center designed for hotel guests.

What the launch means for Minor Hotels’ global expansion

The opening of The Wolseley Hotel New York represents the first step in a broader global rollout of the Wolseley Hotels brand. According to Dillip Rajakarier, the concept is inspired by the long-standing success of the original Wolseley restaurant in London.

“The launch of The Wolseley Hotels marks an exciting new chapter for Minor Hotels,” Rajakarier said. “Inspired by the enduring success of The Wolseley in London, our vision is to create hotels anchored in culinary excellence, architectural character, and a genuine sense of occasion.”

The New York property will act as the brand’s flagship location, setting the tone for future developments across major global cities.

The project also represents a significant milestone for The Wolseley restaurant brand, which has built a strong reputation in London for its European-style dining and classic hospitality experience. At the center of the hotel will be The Wolseley New York, which will serve as the North American culinary flagship for the brand. According to Aviv Laurence, the New York project is intended to bring the brand’s heritage hospitality concept to the U.S. 

“Introducing The Wolseley restaurant and bar to the U.S. through our New York flagship is a defining moment,” Laurence said. “Together with Minor Hotels, we are creating a destination that celebrates heritage, hospitality, and the enduring appeal of classic European luxury.”

The debut of The Wolseley Hotel New York marks Minor Hotels’ entry into the U.S. luxury boutique hotel segment. The company plans to expand the brand internationally with additional properties expected in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Launching the brand in New York places the concept in one of the world’s most competitive hospitality markets, positioning the property as both a luxury hotel and a destination dining venue tied to the globally recognized Wolseley name.
