An Edgewater Midas store that has only been open for four years may be demolished to make way for a 20-story apartment building.

The new plan: Michael Lichtenstein acquired the building and a vacant parcel addressed at 2140 N.E. 2nd Ave. for $7.3 million in order to develop Edgewood 2. Once completed, the tower will feature 160 units and a commercial area spanning 10,000 square feet.

The facilities: The project is set to have several amenities for tenants, like a pool and a deck on the fifth floor. In addition to that, there will be another pool and deck on the roof. The units would range from 504-square-foot studios to 2,023 square feet with four bedrooms.

What’s next: The city's Urban Design Review Board will soon vote on the project, which has been designed by Zyscovich Architects.
