This new state-of-the-art facility, encompassing nearly 700,000 square feet, will be located at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville. It marks Meta's 18th data center in the United States and its 22nd worldwide.
Construction on the facility is set to commence this month, with a projected completion date of 2026. Once fully operational, the center will not only create 100 new jobs but also generate over 1,250 employment opportunities during peak construction. This groundbreaking investment signifies Meta's unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth in the region.
Recognizing the importance of this venture, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation has demonstrated its support by offering an investment incentive. Meta will receive a 35-year term data center sales tax exemption, contributing to a minimum of $800 million in eligible capital. Moreover, for every additional $800 million invested in the site over this period, the company stands to receive another 5-year tax exemption, potentially extending the total term to a remarkable 50 years.
