Construction is ongoing for the two-tower residential complex at 1 Java Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This project, designed by Marvel Designs and developed by Lendlease, is set to provide 834 rental units. The taller of the two buildings will rise to 37 stories and 402 feet. Jointly developed with Aware Super, the complex features interiors by INC Architecture & Design for public areas and Crème for the townhouse units. Occupying a full block, the complex is also known as 18 India Street.

The shorter, 20-story building on the northern end has recently reached its full height, while the taller tower continues to rise with its upper floors under safety coverings. Façade installation is in progress on the lower levels of both buildings. The shorter building includes a substantial podium extending to the eastern end of the block. The façade of the buildings will feature floor-to-ceiling windows framed by white and light-gray panels, combining smooth and ribbed textures.
The two offset towers are already making a significant impression on the Greenpoint skyline, especially when viewed from the East River and waterfront. Renderings display various perspectives of the complex's main buildings and the expansive podium occupying much of the city block. Thirty percent of the residential units will be designated as affordable housing. Additionally, the property will include 13,000 square feet of retail space on the lower levels and an 18,000-square-foot esplanade along the East River, designed according to the Waterfront Alliance's guidelines to create accessible public spaces, support native bird species, and prioritize local planting.

Sustainability is a key aspect of 1 Java Street, with the use of a geothermal heat pump system instead of traditional gas boiler heating and cooling systems. The developers aim to achieve several certifications, including LEED Gold, WEDG Waterfront, Fitwel, and Energy Star.
The completion date for 1 Java Street is set for the winter of 2025.
