After a hiatus, Mack Real Estate Development is reviving plans for two high-rise apartment towers at 11th and Olive Streets in Downtown Los Angeles.
The proposed development aims to replace existing surface parking lots with two towers: a 51-story building on Olive Street and a 60-story tower across the street. These towers will provide a mix of residential units, retail space, and parking accommodations, contributing to sustainable urban living.
CallisonRTKL is tasked with designing the towers, which will feature resident amenity decks at rooftop and podium levels, enhancing the living experience for residents.
Mack Real Estate plans to commence construction on the smaller tower first, pending city approvals and permits, with an estimated construction period of 30 months. Subsequently, work will begin on the larger tower, following a similar timeline.
These towers are integral to the ongoing revitalization efforts in Downtown LA, aligning with Mack Real Estate and AECOM’s long-term master plan. Previous projects such as the Wren apartments and the Aven tower have already contributed to this revitalization.
Mack Real Estate's project joins other high-rise developments in the area, including a 70-story building by Crescent Heights and a hotel project by AEG. However, it's acknowledged that not all proposals come to fruition, as evidenced by a terminated high-rise project at 11th and Hill Streets.
Mack Real Estate draws upon the Mack family’s extensive experience in commercial real estate, functioning as a fully integrated developer, operator, investor, and lender across major US markets. Their adaptable investment strategies and focus on building strong industry partnerships underpin their success.
