A demolition permit for the half-built Logik Tower in Miami Station is currently under revision. The tower was originally planned as a 30-story office building, but construction stalled in 2008 after only five floors were built.
Story of the property: The site was sold to Chicago developer The John Buck Company earlier this year, and they have submitted plans for a new 42-story tower. The demolition permit that was issued in 2022 has expired, so a revision request was filed with Miami's Building Department on July 25. The purpose of the revision is to "underpin the neighboring building for stabilization before demolition of the existing structure."
What’s next: The new plans for the demolition are currently in review, and they have been marked as "corrections required." Once the revisions are approved, the demolition of the Logik Tower can begin.
The project: The new 42-story tower, called Miami Station, is planned to include 301 residential units, 244,000 square feet of office space, and 7,000 square feet of retail. Permits for site work, vertical construction, and tree replanting are also now in process with Miami's Building Department.
