Seeking to promote the development of more spacious living accommodations, Los Angeles has rolled out an innovative incentive program aimed at encouraging developers to construct larger apartments tailored to cater to the needs of "multi-generational" families. By providing bonuses to developers, the city is paving the way for the creation of housing options that address the evolving dynamics of modern family structures.
Embracing Spacious Living
Paul Krekorian, the President of the L.A. City Council, has set in motion a proposal for a density incentive program. This program aims to exclude the calculated square footage of third, fourth, and fifth bedrooms, along with the third and fourth bathrooms, from the floor area evaluations of expansive family residences.
