Work is currently underway on the location of an upcoming two-story commercial establishment for French luxury retail brand Hermès in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, situated at 111-115 North 6th Street. The project is being developed by the investment firm L3 Capital, operating under the entity L3 Berry and N 6 LLC, while being designed by Building Studio Architects. Upon completion, the structure is set to encompass a total area of 8,500 square feet. Cavan Builders Corp. has been appointed as the general contractor for this property, which occupies the corner of North 6th Street and Berry Street.
In the works: A significant portion of the ground has already been excavated, and temporary wooden walls have been constructed to provide support to the exposed earth until the reinforced concrete foundation walls are installed.
The project in numbers: The building itself will boast an impressive 147 feet of street frontage, with the first level spanning 4,850 square feet and featuring 16-foot-high ceilings. The second level will offer 3,600 square feet of space, also with 16-foot-high ceilings, while the cellar will provide 3,120 square feet.
What to expect: A preview image displays the anticipated final appearance of the development. The facade prominently features red brick elements surrounding generously sized floor-to-ceiling windows, with a transition to gray cementitious paneling on the western side of the North 6th Street elevation. Additionally, a distinctive pyramidal skylight is visible on the roof near the southeast corner of the building.
The anticipated completion date for 111-115 North 6th Street is set for the winter of 2024, as indicated on-site. However, previous online reports have suggested that the opening may occur sometime in 2026.
