What the Sunnyside Development Includes
Construction is underway at 51-02 Roosevelt Ave., where Hiwin Group USA is developing a 19-story mixed-use condominium building. Work officially began July 8. The project will contain 84 condominium residences, including 70 one-bedroom homes and 14 two-bedroom homes. The development will also bring several nonresidential uses to the Roosevelt Avenue corridor, including ground-floor retail, commercial office space and community-oriented medical space. Residential recreation areas, outdoor terraces and parking access are also planned. The project’s total square footage, building height and parking capacity were not disclosed.
What the Building Could Add to Roosevelt Avenue
The 19-story development will be a relatively rare high-rise addition to the area and is expected to create a more prominent architectural presence along Roosevelt Avenue. Its combination of housing, retail, office and medical space could bring additional activity to the corridor while supporting the neighborhood’s continued growth as a residential and commercial destination. The project is located near the 7 train and is surrounded by restaurants, shops, local businesses and established residential blocks. Its transit access provides connections to Manhattan and other parts of Queens.
What Hiwin Group USA Brings to the Project
Hiwin Group USA is leading the development after completing 300 W. 30th St. in Chelsea, a 16-story condominium containing 69 residences. According to the announcement, the Chelsea development sold out within nine months. The company is now bringing its condominium development experience to a larger mixed-use project in Queens. Details regarding the architect, general contractor and total development cost were not provided.
What Acre NY Realty Will Handle
