What the New Resort Brings to the Florida Keys
Hilton has officially opened the Hilton Key West Resort & Marina, adding another waterfront destination to its growing portfolio in the Florida Keys. Located on 20 acres on Stock Island, just east of Key West, the resort offers guests direct access to the marina while placing them within easy reach of the island's most popular attractions. Danny Hughes, President of the Americas for Hilton, said the opening reflects the company's confidence in the market.
"The Florida Keys continue to be one of the most sought-after leisure destinations in the Americas," Hughes said.
He added that the new resort strengthens Hilton's portfolio across the island chain as demand for coastal and resort destinations continues to grow.
What the Property Includes
The resort features 175 guestrooms, including 86 suites, each with a private furnished balcony overlooking either the marina or the Atlantic Ocean. Designed with a relaxed coastal aesthetic, the property combines waterfront accommodations with experiences that showcase the lifestyle of the Florida Keys. Guests have access to six saltwater pools, two food and beverage venues, a fitness center, complimentary paddleboards and kayaks, bicycles, yoga classes, lawn games, and poolside movie nights. The resort also offers a complimentary shuttle to Old Town Key West, providing convenient access to Duval Street, Mallory Square, and the Key West Historic Seaport. For meetings and events, the property includes a 570-square-foot boardroom and a 1,140-square-foot outdoor patio, making it suitable for both corporate gatherings and private celebrations.
What Renovations Are Underway
The property previously operated as Ocean's Edge Resort & Marina before joining the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand. As part of the transition, Hilton is investing in several upgrades designed to enhance the guest experience. Current improvements include renovated guestrooms with new flooring, furnishings, and décor, expanded resort amenities, and the construction of a new Tiki Event Pavilion for outdoor events and gatherings.
Leonard Gooz, Global Brand Leader for Hilton Hotels & Resorts, said the property reflects the brand's long-standing approach to hospitality. "Hilton Key West Resort & Marina brings that legacy to life in a distinctly Key West way," Gooz said, highlighting the resort's waterfront location, marina access, and island-inspired design.
What This Means for Florida's Hospitality Market
The opening adds another high-quality hospitality destination to one of Florida's strongest leisure markets. As travel demand for waterfront and resort destinations remains steady, major hotel brands continue investing in properties that offer both premium accommodations and authentic local experiences. For Hilton, the addition reinforces its strategy of expanding in high-demand vacation markets while strengthening its footprint across the Florida Keys, where tourism remains a key economic driver.
