Coconut Grove's dining scene is set to welcome a new addition as Chop Steakhouse & Bar opens its doors on June 11. Taking over the former Key Club space in CocoWalk, this marks Chop's inaugural U.S. location, bringing its celebrated Canadian hospitality to Miami.

A Modern Take on the Classic Steakhouse

Chop aims to redefine the traditional steakhouse experience by blending premium offerings with a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a 10,000-square-foot space featuring:

  • An island bar serving craft cocktails like the "Truffle Martini" and "Clase Azul Negroni".

  • A covered patio for al fresco dining.

  • Private dining rooms suitable for various occasions.

The interior design emphasizes modern textures and inviting warmth, creating an environment that's both upscale and approachable.

Diverse Menu Offerings

While steaks remain a highlight, Chop's menu caters to a broad range of palates:

  • Steak Selections: USDA Prime cuts, including a signature 32-ounce Tomahawk.

  • Seafood & More: Dishes like miso-glazed sea bass, ahi tuna tataki, and wild mushroom risotto.

  • Lighter Fare: Options such as the Mediterranean Bowl and chicken avocado BLT sandwich.

  • Desserts: House-made treats like pineapple upside-down cake and chocolate mousse.

The beverage program complements the menu with a curated wine list, local beers on tap, and inventive cocktails.

Engaging Dining Experiences

Chop enhances the dining experience with special offerings:

  • Happy Hour: Monday through Friday, 3–6 p.m., featuring $5 drafts, $10 wines, $12 cocktails, and $2 oysters.

  • Tuesday Wine Nights: Half-off bottles of wine.

  • Weekend Brunch: Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

These offerings aim to make Chop a versatile spot for various occasions, from casual lunches to celebratory dinners.

Coconut Grove's Continued Growth

Chop will follow the recent opening of Carbone Vino by Major Food Group at 2911 Grand Avenue. This Italian eatery brings the classic Carbone experience to Coconut Grove, further signifying growth and demand in the area.

These top-tier arrivals, joining Michelin-caliber concepts such as Los Felix and Krüs Kitchen further underscore CocoWalk's successful revitalization from its 1990s origins into a vibrant mixed-use hub, blending modern retail, dining, and office spaces while honoring the neighborhood's rich heritage. The influx of high-profile restaurants not only enhances the area's culinary landscape but also signals a strengthening real estate market, attracting further investment and elevating Coconut Grove's status as a dynamic urban enclave
