GW Properties Reveals Plans for Mixed-Use Redevelopment of Historic Hollander Building in Logan Square

New plans have emerged for the mixed-use redevelopment of the historic Hollander Building located at 2422 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. Nestled on the bustling corner of W Fullerton Avenue, this project by GW Properties in collaboration with NORR architects is set to replace a surface lot and an existing one-story structure. The Hollander Building, dating back to 1912, will undergo a significant facelift with a five-story, 74-foot-tall addition. The ground floor layout has been reimagined, featuring a spacious lobby along Fullerton Avenue and an expanded 15,500 square feet of retail space. The number of residential units has been bumped up to 62, including a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, with 12 units designed to be affordable for those at 60 percent AMI. The top floor will offer private terraces and balconies, enhancing the living experience. Updates to the facade will introduce a blend of gray and brown brick, along with the potential addition of a small mural on the northern side. The proposal is now awaiting approval from the alderman following a community meeting before progressing towards city authorization.
