RP Masiello Inc. has officially finished the construction of a new 130,000 square-foot structure for Goya Foods' regional operations campus in Webster, MA. This latest addition serves as a bulk distribution center, housing sections for both room-temperature and freezer storage to accommodate a variety of Goya’s products.

The company: This newly established distribution center marks RP Masiello's sixth collaboration with Goya Foods in Webster, dating back to 1989. Goya Foods, the largest distributor of Latino cuisine in North America and the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, stands as a prominent presence in the food industry.

The people behind the brand: David Masiello, President of RP Masiello, conveyed that “Over the years we have built a great relationship with the Unanue family, who own and operate Goya Foods. Through our many projects, we have spent a lot of time at the Goya headquarters in New Jersey, and I’m so impressed with the level of enthusiasm and spirit that everyone in the company has. That kind of workplace spirit starts at the top, with the genuine commitment of the Unanue family.”

The new development: The construction of this new building commenced in October 2021, involving comprehensive site preparations, including the removal of substantial amounts of rock to ensure a level foundation for the structure. The newly erected building seamlessly connects with another warehouse and office facility previously constructed by RP Masiello for Goya. Precise planning was crucial to ensure that the new construction did not disrupt ongoing Goya operations.

The backstory: RP Masiello has been Goya’s design and construction partner since the inception of Goya’s presence in Webster. Beyond construction, the RP Masiello team assisted Goya in identifying the appropriate site in Webster and navigating the intricate web of local and state permitting processes essential for the development of this expansive campus.
