GF55 Partners & Omnia Group Top Out 17-story Mixed-use Development in LES

Construction of 185 Chrystie Street, a 17-story residential building, has reached its peak on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. This project, designed by GF55 Partners and developed by Omnia Group and Naveh Shuster, stands at 175 feet and will encompass 75,000 square feet. It will feature 57 residential units along with ground-floor retail space, situated between Stanton and Rivington Streets, opposite Sara D. Roosevelt Park.

Construction Progress

Since the last update in July 2023, significant progress has been made. At that time, the site had just completed demolition, and excavation had not yet begun. The reinforced concrete superstructure is now complete. Recent images reveal the building's massing, including a northern-side cantilever, multiple setbacks, and beveled corners on the upper levels. The building's core is located along the southern lot line wall. Currently, construction crews are installing metal frame studs and insulation boards on the edges of the floor plates in preparation for the final cladding.

Design Features

Exterior renderings show 185 Chrystie Street will be clad in a light-colored stone with a grid of floor-to-ceiling windows. The upper-level setbacks will feature landscaped outdoor terraces, and the building will have a roof deck with a bulkhead featuring arched windows that mirror the entrance design. Additionally, a wide balcony is planned near the top of the building’s rear western profile.

Accessibility & Timeline

The location offers convenient access to public transportation. The J and Z subway trains at the Bowery station are to the south along Delancey Street, while the F train at the 2nd Avenue station is to the north along Houston Street. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2025, as indicated on site.
