Geoff Palmer's 1,150-unit DTLA Development is Back to Life

After a period of dormancy, construction has resumed on the second half of Geoff Palmer's expansive Ferrante apartment complex near the I-110 Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles.

Project Overview

Located on a 10-acre site at Temple Street and Beaudry Avenue, the Ferrante project includes the development of seven-story buildings. These structures will house a total of 1,150 apartments, 21,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and parking facilities for 2,600 vehicles.

Architectural Design

The second phase of Ferrante will mirror the architectural style of the existing building at Temple and Beaudry. The design will feature an Italian Renaissance-inspired aesthetic, incorporating amenities such as courtyards and pool decks throughout the site.

Phased Construction Approach

Construction is being carried out in six overlapping phases, as per permits from the City of Los Angeles. The first phase of the complex was completed in 2022.

Developer Background

Geoff Palmer, renowned for his "Renaissance Collection" comprising over 5,000 residential units along Harbor Freeway, is the developer behind Ferrante. While Palmer predominantly focuses on Renaissance-style projects, he has also explored other architectural styles. Notable examples include the brick-clad Broadway Palace in the Fashion District and a proposed 15-story modern tower in Historic South-Central.
