Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is set to welcome a new fixed-base operator, Fontainebleau Aviation, with plans for significant infrastructure expansion.

Expansion Plans

Fontainebleau Aviation intends to construct a substantial facility at FLL, including a hangar spanning nearly 100,000 square feet, a terminal covering 10,000 square feet, and additional office and lobby space exceeding 25,000 square feet.

Offering Hangar and Office Space

The company has commenced sales of hangar space for private and corporate aircraft owners seeking protection from the elements while parked at FLL. Additionally, airport office space is being marketed by Fontainebleau Aviation.

Project Timeline

The project, estimated at $31 million, is slated for completion by early 2025. Notably, the hangar will encompass over 98,000 square feet, while the terminal will span more than 9,000 square feet.

FLL's Significance

FLL has evolved into an intercontinental gateway since the late 1990s, boasting over 700 daily flights to 135 domestic and international destinations. However, Miami International Airport remains the primary hub for long-haul flights. FLL serves as a crucial airport for the Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, and Boca Raton regions.
